It's another one of those silly scientific holidays, but I wanted to take a minute to write about it because even I don't know where Earth Day comes from. Turns out there is a whole website devoted to Earth Day! http://www.earthday.org/
The History:
Earth Day was founded on April 22nd, 1970 by a guy named, Gaylord Nelson. It turns out he was, at the time, a US Senator for Wisconsin. He got the idea from experiencing the massive oil spill of 1969 in Santa Barbra, California. He announced his idea to the Media and the rest is history. On April 22nd, 20,000,000 Americans got out and rallied for a cleaner environment. Soon to follow were an environmental agency, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and an Environmental Act, the Clean Air, Clean Water and Endangered Species Acts.
Monumental Earth Days:

You can do things like save electricity, conserve water, or even just recycle the pop can you usually throw away at work.
Maybe you could plant some flowers, or a small tree.
If you are super into your Earth Loving, then you could hug a tree or kiss the ground.
Whatever it is, make today count! I'm not a huge Tree Hugger myself but there are some thing we could all change in our life to save the earth we live on. If we don't then who will and what will happen to the planet we live on. Ps- Doing things to save the Earth, can help you save money too!!
I hope you all have a great Friday and a great Earth Day!!
"No trees were harmed in the sending of this message; however, a large number
