Day 3. Tornado Safety Information.
http://www.crh.noaa.gov/fgf/?n=severesummer2010_day3
Tornadoes can be very scary things for a person. Heck, they even scare me, the big tough Meteorologist. I mean come on who isn't scared of something that can come out of no where and flatten a town in a heart beat! I hope none of you (my faithful readers) find yourself in the situation were a tornado flattens your town, but if you ever find yourself in that situation, Don't stand out side and watch the tornado demolish your house. It will suck you up in a heart beat. Follow the below safety types (which are also listed on the NWS's website).

| Tehehehe... I want one of these signs for my wall. |
1) Never Race a tornado... you wont win.
* Exception to this rule is if you have one of those cool storm chasing vehicles like on the Discovery Channel.
2) If you have a basement, go wait it out in the basement. Protect yourself by sitting under something sturdy to block the falling debris.
3) No basement? Find the next best thing, an interior room with no windows. Again try to protect yourself from debris by covering yourself with something sturdy.
4) If you are outside seek a permanent building structure and follow one of the above options. DO NOT use a bridge or an overpass as a safety spot. They act like wind tunnels and you can get sucked out of your "safe haven."
For those of you that love to hunt tornadoes, I'm closing with this comic!
