A foot in the door!

OK SO I'M SUPPER PUMPED AND I'M GOING TO LET IT OUT IN THIS BLOG POST!


I got a wonderful phone call about 2 weeks ago. It was a person from a news station in town.


I had been in contact with him during the summer to see if they had any positions at all open for anything in the station. I mean I am desperate... I would even settle for a position as a coffee maker... where all I do is sit and make the coffee and then bring it to everyone! I hadn't heard back from him at all.. so I started to lose hope and decided to get used to living in Fargo and my new job that had nothing to do with TV at all.


2 weeks ago he calls, out of the blue!!! He was curious if I was still interested in getting a job at the TV station. In my head I'm thinking "YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU! I WANT IT REALLY BAD! I'M DESPERATE!!" but on the outside I just said "Yes" and we set up a meeting for this past Monday!


I got really nervous because I had no idea what to expect. He didn't really say it was an interview but it turned out to be a quick interview and then a tour of the station. There were some things to figure out at the station before he knew if he could start hiring or not.

As I was leaving the station, I thought to myself, "Great more waiting... Oh well I did the best I could." (I really hate waiting!)

THEN!! Last night in the middle of Fringe... (yes another one of my crazy TV show obsessions thanks to my boyfriend!)... I get a phone call. I ran across the apartment (instead of turning down the TV) and hid in the bathroom to answer it.

"Erin, this is KVRR"... and the rest is history... Yes I GOT THE JOB AS A PART TIME PRODUCTION ASSISTANT with the possible opportunity to fill in for weather later on!!!!!!! My foot is officially in the door! and I'm super pumped about it!

PS- I know this post isn't really about weather but it is a little about my adventure into becoming a meteorologist. After all that is who I am.
